Mouse with hammer strikes again....

It's just as easy to cut railing for one deck as it is for two.... so with Rat's blessing... the front deck is also getting a face lift!

Before...

After...

For the future...

Not going to be a problem... I spoke with Joe Shmoe in lot #37 and my fire pit is just like his... so it's cool!!

Besides... this is just a little pyre, not nearly as big as in the past. I actually might end up using some of those planks for nailers on the front deck, which would make it even smaller.

I don't know about that...Joe Shmoe's fire pit has moons and stars cut into the circular metal base...where the hell do I get that piece of crap?

Thats good to see the reuse.

Lowes.com 46! Or if you want one that is more visually appealing go to Cabelas.com their fire pits have deer and mountains and moose.... I like moose!!! Have yet to see a midwest or eastern moose... but the western moose were awesome! Just type in "fire pit". The one from Lowes is rather small though... only 28 inches!!! Hail... that's barely big enough for my kindling!!!

Lime... all that's left is to add people! Not to the pyre mind you... but invite them to the lighting of it!!! Although... I could think of a few to throw on there... :)

lol, glad to know there will be no burnings at the stake.

to answer the questions you left at my place...

i had taken jacob some new tie dye when i saw him in april.

as for getting the colors to set, i use procion dyes on 100% cotton fabric (synthetics don't like to take the dye). prewash the garment to make sure there is no sizing left on it and do not use fabric softener either in the wash or dryer (also will interfere with setting). then prior to dyeing the garment gets tied while it is damp and then soaked in a soda ash and water solution for half an hour. the soda ash changes the pH of the fabric so the dye will chemically bond with it. after dyeing the garment sits in a plastic bag for 24 hours then i give it a double rinse, extended wash cycle and another double rinse before tossing it in the dryer on high heat.

hope that helps :)

Thanks for the info Lime... and I'm glad that Jacob made out too... maybe when he gets a little older the two of you can make some together.

46... I just might... but that is one area I tend not to play with... other than working on the water heater, which I've done twice now!!
