I recently drove to NH to deliver various things to my children living up North. On the way home the song "I can only imagine" came on the radio. I had never heard it before, but it certainly has caught my attention.
With no one to talk to, it gave me plenty to ponder.
When I got home I shared the song and my thoughts on wondering how I would react with my mom... Without hesitation she spread her arms wide imitating a child requesting a hug and said, "Daddy"!
She's so right... that's what I would want the moment I cross over. I believe our "heavens" are as unique and individual as each of us. Much like in the Robin Williams movie "What Dreams May Come" Excellent film.
But now my non-traditional ways of thinking are conflicted with my traditional upbringing.... Do you think God would be offended if I wanted to see my Daddy before meeting him? Or perhaps, my God, knowing my heart, would send Daddy to the gate to wait for me... I can't believe God would hold this desire against me... I guess... I can only imagine...

what dreams may come is one of my all time favorites! the very idea that someone can find you in a world of darkness gives me hope.
oh and i love i can only imagine! such a great song!
Nice to see you out and about KK... thanks for the comments. Without hope... what else is there?
i am surprised that you'd not heard that song before..it is quite moving and powerful , huh?
anyway , i dont know why you've been on my mind this week..maybe because the dragonflies here are in abundance and mating and laying and eating mosquitoes and are so wonderful to see...i guess i just wondered how you came to choose the name dragonfly...
It has been a long, long time since I saw that movie. I remember it as an interesting film and I will see it again.
As I work on my trouse and one thing leads to another I realize I need some hope...
46
Dear 46... there is always hope. I know how overwhelming and never ending the work on the trouse feels... but it is only temporary... everything is always temporary and this task too, will pass... perhaps not as soon as you might like, but it will indeed pass... and then you will be sitting back on that new couch of dark brown watching a movie on your big screen tv, sipping on a glass of wine with your gay little dinosaur :) looking over your work and thinking... "job well done" and "damn that girl knows interior design" :) It's going to look awesome when it is all put back together... it already does!! Chin up 46!
CT.... It is a very powerful song, indeed. Perhaps I had never heard it because for more than a year my heart was so broken that I couldn't bare to listen to music... so I'm doing some catching up now, but honestly have learned to embrace the silence and so often when driving, I don't have the radio on.
As for the name "Dragonfly".... I may have to post a piece I once wrote.... dragonflies are my personal totem. I have a tatoo of one on my back done in all shades of brown. It looks more like a birthmark than a tatoo... There are many reasons for my attachment... but the main ones are.... That they are survivors. They have been around for more than 350 million years enduring many changes but always persevering. I've been told I have an old soul. In their own little world they are the top of the food chain... strong and brave and yet in the whole scheme of things they are actually rather fragile and small. They are passionate and agile, copulating in flight. (not that I can fly) and, it's been pointed out to me that they have a grace about them, natural beauty...and, are difficult to hold onto as they don't alight for long, only long enough to rest and regain their strength....
When able, I'll post the spiritual beliefs of the Native Americans which relate to the dragonfly...
Nice of you to be thinking of me... hope this helps to answer your questions....
CT.. you might want to read an old post of mine... its found in April, titled, Soulful sentiments....
